Brighton Academy in Overland Park, Kansas is a Christian K-12 hybrid, flexible educational program that meets on Mondays and Wednesdays during the school months. We offer all core classes (Math, Science, English, and Social Studies), along with many electives (STEM, Robotics, Choir, Art, Spanish, Drama, PE, etc. See Course Catalog for more details.) Brighton is a drop-off program, not a co-op. We partner with you, as homeschool parents, in your students’ learning. Your support at home ensures your students’ success. Students can take up to 6 classes. Each class period is 60 minutes.

We offer a senior graduation ceremony in May.

Regular special events include holiday class parties, homecoming, parent-led field trips, choir competition, Prom, and more.

Our kindergarten builds a strong foundation in the core subjects, using a phonics-based reading curriculum and a non-spiral approach to mathematics.

What Brighton Families are Saying

Brighton Academy has been a gift to our family over the last few years. We love homeschooling, but sometimes homeschoolers need additional help with classes that are more difficult to teach, especially once the kids get into the upper grade levels! I love how the kids can take 1 class or all of their classes there. We also love the flexibility it offers our family, being only 2 days a week. This kind of model teaches our kids responsibility and how to plan their homework schedules. It is similar to a University Model school, and I think that helps prepare them for college. We love the extra time with our kids at home! They also offer some dual credit in the high school classes! We are grateful for the quality of teachers Brighton is committed to having each year. Christina and Carrie are wonderful to work with, and have a heart to create an excellent Christian environment for the students. We are excited for another great year!

This will be our third year at Brighton. (It will be the first year for our daughter.) Both children are very excited about classes beginning. We love Brighton Academy for many reasons. For example, teachers’ communication is excellent, the curriculum holds very high standards, it offers you wonderful flexibility and a great variety of classes. What I most love about our teachers is that they really go far and beyond as they pour themselves out on our students. As a mom, I feel my children are not just learning but they are enjoying themselves in a safe environment. As a teacher, I am very happy because I have seen my son grow in reading and other subjects that he has been learning at Brighton Academy. I highly recommend Brighton to any parent. -Jennifer D.
